Approach: I offer time limited, goal focused psychotherapy for individuals and couples. This intense approach gives the opportunity to examine, in depth, a particular problem  one is experiencing. Difficulties can be hard to face because it may feel painful, uncomfortable or embarrassing. But the difficulty doesn’t go away. By assigning a specific number of sessions, it helps in staying focused, not avoiding and providing the opportunity to move towards a resolution.

Areas of interest: Detachment and withdrawal; social difficulties or anxieties; difficulty in making relationships; boredom or a lack of interest; compulsive or addictive behaviours in relation to sex, pornography and online gaming; fear or avoidance of conflict including compliancy behaviours and difficulties with assertion; inability to make decisions; hostile feelings in relation to family, friends or work colleagues; destructive risk taking behaviour; excessive working or playing that interferes in other areas of life.

Experience: With fifteen years clinical experience as a psychotherapist working with individuals and couples, I currently work in full time private practice in Grey Lynn. In earlier years I combined private practice with the work based programme providers EAP  Services and a recognized psychotherapy agency in Auckland.

Professional memberships: Registered Psychotherapist with the Psychotherapists Board of Aotearoa New Zealand (PBANZ); full member New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists.

Location: Situated near Karangahape and Ponsonby Roads, this central location is close to bus routes, with good on street parking available.

Appointment availability: Monday to Friday  8.15 am - 3.15pm.

Fees: I offer an initial consultation without charge to consider what may be possible. The fee for any further sessions is $125 inclusive GST. Discounts may be available to lower income individuals.
